Petaluma, Calif. (January 18, 2017) — Optio Solutions, an accounts receivable management firm, has appointed Claire Molesworth to the position of in-house counsel and manager of corporate compliance. She reports directly to President and CEO Chris Schumacher.
Molesworth is a seasoned litigation and regulatory attorney with over eight years of experience representing banks and financial services companies in civil trials and arbitrations as well as recovery and collection matters, regulatory issues and compliance.
She will be responsible for managing Optio’s Corporate Compliance Program, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures and training related to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and other laws. She will also direct compliance with state and federal agencies such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Prior to joining Optio Solutions, Molesworth was a partner in a Seattle law firm where she focused on litigation and pre-litigation matters while regularly advising on regulatory and compliance issues.

Her professional recognition includes being named a “Rising Star” by Washington Super Lawyers from 2012 to 2015 yearly.
Molesworth graduated magna cum laude from the Seattle University School of Law after earning a BA at Barnard College, Columbia University in New York City. She is a member of the state bars of California, Washington, Oregon and Idaho, and was the managing editor of the Seattle Journal of Social Justice while attending law school.
